How we check provider information

Provider information can come from sources with very different authority. Our method records the date checked and labels the source type so a reader can understand what is known and what remains a claim.

Evidence order

1. The provider's current programme, terms, complaints, refund and outcome pages.
2. Applicable public corporate or regulator records.
3. Current information supplied directly by the provider.
4. Third-party directory information with its own methodology.
5. Individual reviews and allegations, presented as accounts rather than findings.

Ratings and labels

We do not merge unrelated review scales into one synthetic rating. We do not label a provider approved, accredited or guaranteed unless the precise statement is supported by a current authoritative source.
